Inspired by a support column, from a Spirit House (haus tambaran), of Papua New Guinea. Sepik people use the Spirit Houses as a meeting-house and site for rituals and initiations. The house is fully decorated with Ngwalndu, that are large, flat painted faces, and representations of ancestral spirits.
