It was quite the rare occasion for Bertie to come across someone he had never seen or met before. He was a one-man welcoming committee for that quaint town of his. He knew the newcomers—name, occupation, and address—before their own neighbors could drop in with a fruit basket. But then there was Corrinne in all her glory, accosting the ice cream man.
